Introduction to Applique
This is a 2 session class
Applique is a decorative sewing technique where pieces of fabric are attached to a larger background fabric to form patterns, pictures, or designs. The technique allows for creative freedom, enabling the creation of complex shapes like curves and waves that can be difficult to achieve with traditional piecing methods. In this class you will learn about a variety of applique methods including turned edge and raw edge applique. You will see demonstrations on how to use freezer paper, templates, fusible web and mono-filament thread. After watching these demonstrations, you may choose the method you prefer to complete the simple Hidden Garden Quilt. This pattern is available for free at the link below. After you download and print your digital quilt pattern come into the store and choose any fabric you like to make this quilt or we will be happy to help you design and create your perfect Hidden Garden Quilt.

| Requirements: | Please bring your sewing machine to class along with basic sewing tools; thread, extra bobbins, 1/4” piecing foot, sewing machine needles, scissors, seam ripper, straight pins, fabric clips tape measure, rotary cutter, rulers. |
